Just Me Checking In
It’s been awhile since I made an entry. Since my mom has been gone--I don’t feel the need to write each week. (This I did for her, so she’d receive a letter every week, which I passed on to you.) However, I will let you know what I’ve been up to lately.
It is obvious, that I have joined PHOTO HUNT, (http://tnchick.com/) from my Saturday posts. It is fun and challenging, it is also interesting to see what other photographers from around the world choose to match the theme.
I completed my “history of jazz and rock” class and actually got the only 100% on the final. I’ve made it through some miserable weather (for Redding and me as I have “seasonal affective disorder”). I also spent a 4 days in bed with a horrible flu virus. Now the sun is out, the weather is mild, and I’m feeling great!
I have add Tia Chi to my curves and walking regime. Most weeks 4-6 of us get together and play scrabble. This Thursday, I’ll be attending a play put on by our community playhouse. Friday evening will be a concert benefit for Darfur Refugees. My kids former babysitter’s granddaughter will be one of the performers. She is around 20 and is a mezzo-soprano--so that will be fun. Last Friday night, I had the opportunity to again hear the wonderful group from Australia, the “Ten Tenors”. (Photos above) Of course, I still love spending time with little my niece and nephews.
Currently, I am making plans for future trips and vacations. I have two weekends in Santa Clara, one in March and one in April for family functions. In the summer, a week in San Diego with sisters to finish sorting through our parents things. A September trip to DC with friends for the AARP convention (had SO much fun last year). A stop off in Longview, Texas to visit my twin sister. An October get together with high school friends near the coast here in California. Then, in my mind, I’m already thinking of the trips for the following year. Maybe even somewhere in Europe.
Love to have you comment or e-mail me about yourselves.
thought of the week: What if there were no hypothetical questions?

Claudia--
It's wonderful catching up on your life. Thank you so much for sharing so openly.
I'm sorry about the loss of your mother and I also feel for you having the chore of going through your parents' possessions. That is hard. I know, I've done it.
But you sound like you also have lots of wonderful and fun activities to keep you busy. Your photography is wonderful and must bring you immense pleasure.
Keep the posts coming. They are a joy to read.
