The Autumn of My Life

Another confession:

Those of you who know me (and hopefully love me inspite of this) know I am cheap! An example, is the fact that I rarely turn on my heater. So here I sit, with the temperature reading 57 degrees, bundled up. Wool cap on, covered by a sweatshirt hood and two mufflers around my neck, with the ends stuffed into the front of the sweatshirt, warming my chest. I also am wearing wool socks, slippers and sweatpants with leg-warmers on top and my lap covered by a blanket.
Every penny helps!!

Technology

Ok, so I’m not young, and technology is difficult to keep up with. My daughter, even wrote a my space blog about me. I received a DVD player for Christmas and I began playing my first DVD. There were actors or characters speaking and I did not know if it was part of the movie or not as the talking was not the characters’ voices, but a description of the scene. I called my daughter, who had already seen the movie to ask her.
She laughed at me and said it was the commentary, and told me how to start the real movie. So I was ignorant to how that all work, so what?

Also, I am teased by both my children when I call the “remote control for the tv the “dials”. I also, call the cordless phone, the “walk around phone”. Old habits die hard!

The Autumn of My Life

Impatient

That is what I am -- impatient! I want things done when I want them done. I become unreasonbly irritable when people go on and on and on with a story before getting to the point and then start all over again. I say, "land that plane". So, as you can tell, I have a lot to work on.

New Baby Nephew

I am getting ready to leave town for a week. My (not quite 4 week old nephew (Vicky’s boy) is in the hospital (the 6 week old twin nephews are fine, and now at home). He was in Redding’s hospital for 8 days and then flown to UC Davis Medical Center. There he was finally diagnosed with influenza A and just was moved from ICU to pediatrics today. Slow improvement. Anyway, the daddy has to return home today to go to work tomorrow, so I volunteered to go down an be with the mom. I’ll be there until Thurs. morning, when I’ll pick Lynette (my girlfriend from Jamaica and junior high) up at her friend’s house in Napa. We will go up to Sebastopol to see Linda (another junior high friend). On Saturday, I’ll drive Lynette to Sac. Airport. Then I’ll either stay with Vicky again or head back to Redding.

Rain, rain, rain -- I can't take another drop! There is a reason gloom rhymes with doom! Yet, I know that rain if "good". It is followed by sunshine, it brings flowers, and without it, we wouldn't see rainbows. However, I strongly feel that is should only, ok,
mostly rain at night!
